Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital is an acute hospital that supports a population of approximately 80,000 and is the only ANZAC Memorial hospital remaining in NSW. Nestled within the grounds of the Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital in Katoomba, the 15bed Blue Mountains Mental Health Unit (BMMHU) offers compassionate, trauma informed, and recovery focused psychiatric care. The team delivers flexible and innovative models of support designed to meet the complex needs of adults living with mental illness, helping prevent relapse, strengthen independence, and enhance community participation. With a strong commitment to collaboration, the BMMHU works closely with individuals, their families, and carers to create a safe, empowering environment where recovery can truly take shape.
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly skilled and passionate Senior Occupational Therapist to make a meaningful impact across Mental Health services in the Blue Mountains area.
In this rewarding role, you will provide specialist occupational therapy interventions that support recovery, occupational participation, meaningful life roles, and community connectedness for consumers accessing both inpatient and community mental health services. Working as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver expert clinical consultation, education, and leadership while contributing to high-quality, person-centered care that improves outcomes for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You will play a key role in supporting and developing the occupational therapy workforce through the provision of clinical supervision to Level 1 and 2 Occupational Therapists, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students.

What you will bring to the role
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy, and current Occupational Therapy registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Substantial post graduate clinical experience providing Occupational Therapy services to adults with persistent and severe Mental Health problems. Demonstrated capabilities for recovery- oriented practice and high level of knowledge, skills, and clinical expertise for occupational therapy service provision in a Mental Health setting.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership, provision of clinical supervision, and experience in the supervision of undergraduate/post graduate Occupational Therapy students
- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to manage a complex caseload with competing priorities
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement innovative, evidence- based individual and group interventions to support consumers with persistent and severe mental health problems
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and effective time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Current Driver's License and willingness to use for work purpose travel
