This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

What you'll be doing

  • The position is responsible for providing advanced Physiotherapy assessment and treatment services to patients within the varied caseloads at the Broken Hill Hospital and Health Service and outreach locations.  
  • Outreach services may require intervention that isn’t primary skill set of the individual. It is expected the successful applicant would have experience in all/majority of the areas above or the willingness to undertake further professional development in areas requiring upskilling.

How to apply  
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • Degree in Physiotherapy with registration via APRHA and have at least 3 years post graduate clinical experience in a relevant clinical field, as well as the ability to be registered via appropriate professional organisation.
  • Demonstrated advanced Physiotherapy knowledge and skills in the Adult and/or Paediatric caseload areas which may include but not limited to Inpatient Acute Wards, Sub Acute Rehabilitation, Outpatients and Outreach Services.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise high workload demands and work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide staff and student supervision, clinical and service consultation.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, implement and evaluate quality improvement initiatives, research, and service development processes.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills including negotiation, decision making, advocacy and the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
