What you'll be doing
The Senior Hospital Scientist will manage the Platelet Research Group at Sydney Centres for Haemostasis and Thrombosis (SCTH), a leading centre for haemostasis and thrombosis research. The key responsibilities for this role will include:
- Providing mentorship and leadership within the Platelet Research Group.
- Conducting testing and research to improve diagnostic and treatment pathways for haemostasis and thrombosis.
- Working with clinical and scientific teams to enhance translational research.
- Guiding staff in developing research skills and protocols.
- Contributing to improving haemostasis and thrombosis services locally and globally.

Essential Criteria:
- Qualification: Tertiary qualifications of at least PhD, FFSc (RCPA) or equivalent
Selection Criteria:
- Tertiary qualification of at least PhD, FFSc (RCPA) or equivalent and extensive post-graduate experience in the field of thrombosis and haemostasis.
- Extensive experience in independently leading research projects, and completion of research data for publication of high-quality research in international journals and presenting at conferences.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, accompanied by demonstratable problem solving, analytical skills and effective communication skills, resource management.
- Excellent skills in writing of analytical reports
- Demonstrated extensive experience working with human samples.
- Proven track record and evidence of leadership positions in Thrombosis and Haemostasis Societies and international scientific journals.
- Experience in data analysis including the use of statistical programs.
- Experience working within collaborative research teams, demonstrated ability to develop and maintain research networks, as well as the ability to work autonomously with minimal direction.
