Bring your finance expertise and consultative style to a collaborative team where your work is visible, valued and outcomes-focused.

Health Manager level 3, starting salary from $132,236 - $150,222 plus Super, with a 38- hour work week.

What you’ll be doing

  • Partner with stakeholders on day-to-day financial requirements, providing support and advice and lifting financial acumen across the organisation.

  • Lead reliable monthly forecasting with concise executive narratives.
  • Work with key stakeholders to build and phase Ministry budgets, aligned to operational plans.
  • Streamline finance processes and tools, lift financial capability, and prepare clear briefs, submissions, and correspondence.

About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  • Proven business partnering ability—consultative, influential, and able to translate financials into clear, actionable decisions.
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance (CA/CPA/CIMA eligible) and experience in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated capability in management reporting, variance analysis, budgeting and reliable monthly forecasting; advanced Excel/Power BI skills.
  • Excellent written communication for briefs, submissions and executive narratives, with a continuous-improvement mindset and strong deadline discipline.

How to apply
At The Ministry of Health, we want you to make the most of the opportunities you’ll get to grow your skills and your career, surrounded by authentic, smart people and leaders.

Please review the role description and submit your up-to-date resume (up to 5 pages) and cover letter (1-2 pages) and demonstrate your ability by attaching a response to the two target questions below.

Target Questions (1-2 pages)

  1. Describe a time you built a strong business-partnering relationship to influence a complex financial decision (e.g., budget setting, forecast revision or investment proposal). What was the context, who were the key stakeholders, how did you tailor your communication and analysis to their needs, and what outcome did you achieve?
  2. Give an example of leading a finance process improvement (reporting, forecasting, or budget phasing) across teams with varying financial capability. How did you engage and bring stakeholders on the journey, manage competing priorities and timeframes, and embed the change so it delivered sustained benefits?
