What you'll be doing
This position is essential to the Operational day to day leadership of the Finance team at Westmead Hospital. Working Closely with the Director of Finance and Performance, this position supports and engages with the team of Finance Business Partners and the clinical business to provide business partnering throughout the facility. This temporary position may lead to the opportunity to apply for the role permanently.
The primary purpose of the Senior Finance Business partner is:
- To influence and support Operational Managers to achieve the desired financial outcomes of the organization. This includes planning, implementing and monitoring of governance structures to control and manage the use of financial resources and budgets.
- To identify, manage and monitor sound financial controls and processes which deliver efficiencies and provides reliable and accurate financial information.
- To work closely with the Facility Finance Director to provide leadership, subject matter expertise and support for the Westmead Finance team.

Selection Criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications with a full and current membership to a relevant professional accounting body, as well as a record of ongoing professional development OR extensive relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated strong business partnering experience in financial operations of a Health Service (or similar body)
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills and experience in liaison and negotiation at all levels with a wide range of Stakeholders
- Well-developed issues management skills with the ability to apply sound judgement and work within tight deadlines in order to respond to sensitive and complex matters
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in using financial computer systems such as Oracle as well as advanced computer skills in PC based applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word and Access
- Demonstrated ability to develop business cases, enhancement proposals, business plans and briefs
