Where you'll be working
Join the Whole of Family Team at Mount Druitt Hospital in this multidisciplinary position, working across Mental Health, Drug Health and child protection services to support families experiencing complex AOD, psychosocial and child wellbeing challenges.

• You'll work in a collaborative and supportive environment where your clinical expertise can influence both individual outcomes and the way services work together across Western Sydney.

• Work alongside Drug Health, Mental Health, Child & Family Health and primary care services

• Build strong partnerships with DCJ, Child Protection and non-government organisations

• Contribute to a multidisciplinary model focused on integrated, family-centred care

• Support trauma-informed, culturally safe and harm reduction approaches

• Influence service development, quality improvement and the ongoing evolution of the Whole of Family Team model

What you'll be doing 
As the Senior Drug Health Clinician, you'll bring advanced AOD expertise and clinical leadership to complex family presentations, while supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.

• Deliver advanced AOD and psychosocial assessments, including risk, parenting capacity and family functioning

• Provide evidence-based counselling and therapeutic interventions to parents, children and families

• Lead complex case formulation, clinical reviews, safety planning and multidisciplinary decision making

• Provide clinical supervision, secondary consultation and specialist guidance to clinicians and partner agencies

• Lead quality improvement, service evaluation, reflective practice and the development of clinical resources

Essential Criteria

• Qualification:  A minimum bachelor degree of Social Work/Counselling or a related field   or Tertiary qualifications in Psychology 

• Registration: If Psychologist General Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and completion of a four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas and has completed a minimum of one year at the 9th year of service and thereafter.) 

Selection Criteria

1. Professional eligibility for membership with Australian Association of Social Work or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia; or registration with Psychology Board of Australia

2. Demonstrated substantial experience in delivering counselling, trauma informed interventions, and psychosocial treatment to individuals and families impacted by substance use.

3. Demonstrated substantial experience in AOD comprehensive assessment, parenting capacity assessment, risk assessment, and family functioning evaluation.

4. Demonstrated substantial experience to consult on and lead case formulation, reflective practice, and clinical discussions within a multidisciplinary environment

5. Significant experience providing clinical supervision to allied health staff and/or students.

6. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative partnerships with government and non government agencies.

7. Advanced understanding of integrated, family centred AOD care including harm reduction, child protection collaboration, and principles of safety planning.

8. Current NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel across the LHD
