About the Role
The position is responsible for leading, guiding and managing the delivery of diversional therapy services to the clients of the Burudyara Forensic Mental Health Unit at Concord Centre for Mental Health. As a senior clinician the diversional therapist will be responsible for the provision of an efficient and effective diversional therapy service through the application of high level clinical expertise and knowledge in the management of forensic mental health. This will include the assessment of clients within the clinic setting provision of therapeutic interventions which will include the education of clients and carers. The post holder may be responsible for the clinical supervision of diversional therapy staff and will receive ongoing supervision and support from the Head of Department (or delegate).

Ideal Candidate
- Must hold a Bachelor or post-graduate Degree in Diversional Therapy/Recreational Therapy that provides eligibility for full membership of the Australian Recreational Therapy Association (ARTA), with experience at Level 2 or higher; and/or relevant experience deemed suitable.
- Ability to work across all SLHD sites.
- Demonstrated advanced high level clinical expertise and knowledge of mental health and/or forensic mental health diversional therapy practice.
- Demonstrated ability to independently problem solve, apply professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations as per of a multidisciplinary team.
