We are now seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic dietitian with high level clinical skills enabling them to work across a range of clinical areas. An eligibility list may be created from this recruitment.
Where you’ll be working
The St George Hospital and Health Services is part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. It is an accredited, principal teaching hospital of the University of New South Wales and is not only the largest hospital within the Local Health District, but is among the leading centres for trauma and emergency management in the State. The hospital’s areas of special expertise also include cancer services, critical care, cardiothoracic surgery, mental health services and women’s and children’s health care.
The hospital is currently undergoing redevelopment and in 2026 will open a brand new Kensington Street Building, bringing together a range of day only, ambulatory and outpatient services that are currently being delivered from a number of locations around the hospital campus. This will improve accessibility for patients and their carers; particularly for those less mobile or who have chronic health conditions. The KSB will also include three levels of inpatient beds, Allied Health outpatient clinics and an Allied Health staff hub. The St George Hospital Redevelopment will provide staff, patients and carers with a first-class facility, designed to meet the health needs of our community, now and into the future.
What you’ll be doing

Your focus will be on providing quality person centered nutrition care. As a senior dietitian in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics you will be actively involved in quality improvement, service development activities and the clinical supervision of junior staff and students.
You will be responsible to plan, coordinate, and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within Nutrition and Dietetics in order to provide high quality Dietetic care to patients consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.

Selection Criteria
- Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels
- Proven ability to provide high level clinical advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a complex nature
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning
