About the Opportunity
Are you passionate about using data to drive real change? As a Senior Data Engineer with the Data Analytics Services team at eHealth NSW, you’ll have the chance to shape the future of healthcare in NSW. You'll design and deliver impactful analytics solutions using powerful tools like Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle Analytics Cloud (OACS) and Power BI — turning complex data into insights that matter.
Working alongside the Finance and Procurement team, you’ll contribute to smarter, value-based care by transforming how we use data to inform decisions. Join a team that thrives on innovation, fosters inclusion and psychological safety, and is committed to making a real difference in a high-performance, purpose-driven culture.
In this role, you will:
- Apply your advanced Oracle expertise (on-premise and cloud) to architect and guide best-practice data solutions.
- Lead the design and delivery of complex analytics products that enable strategic, value-based healthcare outcomes.
- Develop and govern enterprise-grade data models that drive critical clinical and operational reporting, ensuring integrity and consistency.
- Architect scalable, cloud-optimised data pipelines to streamline and future-proof data integration and transformation.
- Act as a trusted advisor, translating complex business needs into impactful technical strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Deliver high-impact data visualisations and narratives that empower informed decisions across all levels of the organisation.
- Champion best practices in coding, testing, and governance to enhance system performance, security, and long-term sustainability.
This role is internally referred to as Senior Engineer - Data and Business Intelligence.
About you
We are looking for someone who has:
- Proven experience working with large-scale workforce and financial data to deliver actionable insights, ideally leveraging Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and Fusion Applications.
- Expert-level SQL skills with deep experience in Oracle database performance tuning, partitioning, and high-quality code development.
- Advanced capability in designing and building enterprise data integration pipelines using tools like Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
- Strong track record in developing sophisticated data visualisations and dashboards using Power BI and Oracle Analytics Cloud.
- Proficient in source control and versioning using tools such as GIT, supporting collaborative and secure development practices.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments using Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Skilled in managing and resolving complex customer data and product queries with a solutions-focused, responsive approach.
- Bring a customer-first, growth-oriented mindset, continually refining your knowledge, tools, and processes to drive innovation and deliver measurable business value.
