NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers a range of specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through our community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly skilled and motivated clinician to provide clinical leadership within the Lithgow Community Mental Health Team. In this rewarding role, you will bring expert clinical knowledge and advanced practice skills to support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred mental health care within a multidisciplinary environment.

Working collaboratively with consumers, carers and healthcare professionals, you will provide clinical guidance and support to team members while ensuring effective care coordination for people accessing the service. Your leadership will contribute to positive consumer outcomes, promote best-practice care and strengthen the team's ability to respond to the diverse mental health needs of the community.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA with post-registration qualifications in Mental Health and at least 3 years' experience working in Mental Health or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
  2. Demonstrated skills in mental health and discipline specific assessments and interventions and experience working with people with mental illness.
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team across services and settings including skills and experience in clinical support planning and integrated care coordination.
  4. Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to manage a complex caseload with competing priorities
  5. Demonstrated ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and carers with a commitment and understanding of recovery principles in mental health service provision
  6. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and effective time management skills
  7. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel
