Senior Clinical Dietitian
An exciting opportunity exists for temporary Senior Clinical Dietitians at Ryde Hospital. Positions within Ryde Dietetics are appointed on the relevant grading, not to a specified clinical area. This position predominantly covers the Ryde Diabetes and General Nutrition outpatient clinics while inpatient cover across Acute and Rehab wards is allocated based upon departmental need.

Ryde Hospital
Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.
The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.
Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.
What you'll be doing
The position is part of the Dietetics and Diabetes team at Ryde Hospital and is responsible for outpatients within the Ryde Diabetes outpatient service and our Nutrition and Dietetics outpatients clinics. The position also provides nutrition care for Acute and Rehab inpatients . In addition, the position is required to participate in the provision of the face to face weekend/public holiday Dietetic service on the Ryde Hospital campus (acute care and sub-acute care) for long weekends as rostered.
The Senior Clinical Dietitian is active in maintaining standards of quality nutritional care, education and consultancy for patients, staff and the wider community. The Senior Clinical Dietitian is involved in planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting on services. The Senior Clinical Dietitian will identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice, as well as develop and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff. The Senior Clinical Dietitian provides clinical supervision to level 1 /2 dietitians and also acts as Team Leader when the Ryde HOD Nutrition and Dietetics is on leave.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia. Evidence of extensive clinical experience with a minimum as a Level 2 Dietitian.
- Demonstrated proficient skills and knowledge in the provision of current Nutrition & Dietetic practice. A strong commitment to an evidence-based service to provide for consumers, carers and families requiring assessment, case management, intervention, appropriate referral and discharge planning.
- Demonstrated proficiency in ability to work autonomously with limited supervision. Have the ability to prioritise work, manage a demanding workload, apply high level reasoning skills and have independent professional judgement.
