About the role

With your skills and experience, you can contribute to improving health outcomes for communities across NSW through data, monitoring and evaluation. As a Senior Analyst, you will coordinate and undertake data development, governance, analysis, and evaluation activities that inform policy, program and service delivery across the health system. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen data quality, improve reporting, and generate insights that support evidence-informed decision making. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and meaningful initiatives that directly contribute to statewide health priorities. You'll join a collaborative and high-performing team that values innovation, continuous improvement and the effective use of data to drive better outcomes for the NSW community.

What you will be doing

  • Analyse, interpret and translate complex data into meaningful insights to support policy, program and service improvement.

  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of health programs and services, including the development and refinement of monitoring systems and reporting frameworks.

  • Provide advice on data governance, data management processes and state-wide data collections to support accurate and consistent reporting.

  • Collaborate with Local Health Districts, non-government organisations and government stakeholders to improve data quality and performance monitoring.

  • Prepare high-quality briefs, reports, presentations and project documentation to support strategic decision making.


About you 
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience in data analytics, data management, data governance, performance monitoring and/or program evaluation.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and develop practical solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining productive relationships with diverse stakeholders in complex environments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to a range of audiences.

  • Experience using Power BI, SQL, R, or similar analytical tools will be highly regarded.
