Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.

 

We are seeking a skilled and driven Senior Analyst to join the Information Management and Analytics (IM&A) Unit at Nepean Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting data driven decision making across the district. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high quality Power BI reports that provide clear visibility into performance against key performance indicators and targets. You will transform complex datasets into accurate, meaningful, and user friendly visualisations that support operational and strategic outcomes.

Working closely with the Data & Analytics Lead, you will ensure data integrity and contribute to the delivery of timely and reliable reporting solutions. Your analytical expertise will support the interpretation of data, enabling actionable insights that inform service improvements and enhance models of care across the organisation.

What you will bring to the role

  1. Relevant Tertiary qualifications in data analytics, data science, ICT, health analytics or equivalent and/or relevant experience.
  2. Demonstrated experience developing and publishing Power BI dashboards end-to-end- from gathering requirements, designing the front end, setting up the data model, testing and iterating on dashboards to publishing, training, and maintaining dashboards on an ongoing basis.
  3. Demonstrated experience in critically analysing, interpreting and reporting on data in the healthcare industry or related. Examples may include analysis impact on patient outcomes, KPI reporting, performance reporting, etc
  4. Proficient in Power BI (including advance DAX) and SQL Server; experience in Python and SSIS not essential but well regarded.
  5. Sound knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts, performance tuning using execution plan analysis, and Dimensional Modelling concepts (Facts/Dimensions).
  6. Proven skills in effectively communicating and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across a variety of specialisations and domains.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team using Agile project management methodologies.
