What you'll be doing
As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, respectful and secure environment for staff, patients, visitors and contractors across the hospital campus.
Permanent Part-Time (PPT) officers will be rostered for 33hours per week and will provide operational and leave relief support across Blacktown (BLK) and Mount Druitt (MDT) Hospital Security Teams.
These positions will be rostered across day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays, in line with operational requirements.
Officers will also participate in team rotations as part of normal service delivery.
Overtime may be required from time to time to support operational needs.
Protect people, property and hospital assets through proactive security practices
Respond to incidents, Code Black emergencies and emerging risks safely and professionally
Deliver high-quality customer service with empathy, including support for mental health consumers
Operate and monitor security systems such as CCTV, access control and duress alarms
Collaborate with clinical teams, emergency services and external stakeholders

Essential Requirements:
License: Class 1A Licence as issued under the Security Industry Act 1997
Qualification: Certificate II in Security Operations, current First Aid Certificate
Selection Criteria:
Security experience in a large complex client-focused organisation & NSW Driver Licence (full or provisional class C).
Proven experience in communicating and responding to challenging and aggressive situations such as distressed persons and mental illness
Proven ability to display empathy towards vulnerable clients, while maintaining integrity and resilience in circumstances which may be multidimensional and sensitive
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment, take direction and ability to work under minimal supervision and complete all patrols and any other security work during the shift
Excellent written communication skills particularly in the area of report writing, maintaining shift logs and entering information into databases
Demonstrated experience with a sound understanding of alarm systems, access control system, CCTV and Fire Indication panels
Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn current and emerging security and IT systems
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders including ability to work co-operatively as a member of a team
