What you'll be doing
 The Sourcing & Procurement Manager is responsible for taking a leadership role in the provision of specialised commercial advice as an escalation point for the Contract Advisors as well as playing a strategic role in the drive to significantly improve the Network’s contract/or management maturity, ensuring alignment with NSW Ministry of Health and NSW Procurement Policy Framework. 
  
The role will drive and implement key procurement and contract strategies across the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN). The position will be responsible for performing complex strategic procurement analysis and reporting to identify opportunities for  best practice procurement management, identify cost savings, performing spend analysis and exploring contract opportunities. 
  
The position will ensure procurement and contract practices have high level controls in place to manage the Network’s procurement and contract risk, reduce the likelihood of fraud and to achieve the best value for money for the Network.

  1. Demonstrated extensive experience and a record of achievement in procurement and category management in a large, complex service industry organisation. This includes strong knowledge and practical experience in working with commercial and contract negotiations and contractor/supplier management
  2. Commercial acumen and highly developed analytical and innovative problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to effectively work with others autonomously to achieve desired business outcomes.
  3. High level interpersonal skills including effective communication, engagement, negotiation and influencing skills with all levels of government, staff, management, customers, suppliers and stakeholders; with demonstrated capacity to build, maintain and use relationships to successfully achieve business outcomes.
  4. Tertiary and/or other relevant post-graduate qualifications, including membership of relevant professional association (such as MCIPS or AAPCM) /or extensive practical experience in similar procurement environments.
  5. Ability to lead the effective delivery of end to end sourcing capability and commercial execution activities, including tenders and requests for proposal (RFx), evaluations, supplier negotiations, contract development and execution.
  6. Demonstrated experience with procurement and contracts lifecycle strategies including procurement initiation, contract performance management and spend analysis to drive procurement savings.
