The General Medicine department at The Children's Hospital at Westmead (CHW) are seeking a temporary 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) Post Graduate Fellow to join their team for a 12-month appointment.
What you'll be doing
The postgraduate fellow in Complex care will provide comprehensive quality evidence -based care for children and young people with complex, chronic and multisystem health conditions working within a broad interdisciplinary team. The role works closely within the General Medicine team to support delivery of coordinated multidisciplinary care for children with medical complexities across inpatient and outpatient settings. The fellow will develop skills in, and contribute to service delivery, development of models of care, quality improvement and research activities aimed at improving outcomes for children with complex healthcare needs and their families.
The position also provides opportunities for developing leadership skills and includes involvement in training and education with contributions to both undergraduate and postgraduate training. Participation in an on-call roster is anticipated.
The post graduate fellow must abide by the hospital code of conduct and participate in annual performance reviews for clinical services and complex mandatory training.

- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist in General Paediatrics / Paediatrics and Child Health), and/or overseas trained specialist pathways
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in General Paediatrics at the role delineation of the service including competent management across inpatient ambulatory and outpatient models of care
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
- Demonstrated commitment to family-centred and patient-centred care
- Proven high level communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with effective use of a range of communication tools
- Demonstrated experience in quality improvement and research, with the ability to adapt to changing clinical and organisational needs and implement evolving models of care
- Proven commitment to education, supervision and professional development
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time
