The Clinical Trial Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the smooth delivery of a fast-paced and dynamic portfolio of commercial, collaborative and/or investigator-initiated clinical trials, in compliance with the relevant legal, ethical, regulatory, and clinical guidelines across SCHN and in Australia. The primary purpose of this role is to contribute actively to the provision of high-quality research activities at the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN). The Clinical Trial Coordinator will support Investigators and relevant industry stakeholders to coordinate the delivery of complex clinical trials and other clinical research trials, and coordinate trial activity for these patients. The Clinical Trial Coordinator supports investigators located in various clinical departments to run their clinical research according to the protocol and all regulatory and local requirements, within set timelines and budget. Coordinators are responsible for managing all aspects of clinical research from planning through to implementation, participant enrolment and management, study conduct, data management , study close-out and archiving.

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience in clinical trials, or a combination of study and work experience.
  2. Developed and effective written and verbal communication skills with interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities to work autonomously across all aspects of a clinical trial and as part of a multidisciplinary team with demonstrated ability to work with sensitive issues.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work in accordance with key underpinning frameworks and principles in clinical trials, including GCP and the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework.
  4. Demonstrated ability to exercise autonomy and initiative in relation to day-to-day problem solving, communication and decision making.
  5. Strong computer skills and willingness to utilise existing and new systems for clinical trials project management and data including electronic data capture systems.
  6. Project, time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise, have attention to detail, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a highly paced environment.
  7. Experience and confidence working independently and as a member of different trial teams, with persons of varying seniority, clinical trial experience and background.
  8. Demonstrate a culture of quality and patient safety in clinical research.
