Applicants holding visas with working rights may be considered for temporary appointment (up to the expiry date of their visa) where no suitable local applicant is identified.

1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Paediatrician, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
2. Certification as a Clinical Geneticist (HGSA) (by the time of commencement)
3. Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team and excellent interpersonal and professional relationships.
4. Experience in the provision of a wide range of consultant clinical genetics services, including diagnosis and counselling for prenatal, paediatric and adult genetic disorders.
5. Research experience and publication record in peer-reviewed journals in a genetics-related field.
6. Experience in the supervision and teaching of medical students, paediatrician trainees, trainee clinical geneticists and genetic counsellors.
7. Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
8. Higher degree or working towards a higher degree desirable.
