About the Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Nurse Manager - Residential Aged Care Compliance and Quality Manager to join us in this newly created role to provide high level leadership, advice and operational support to the residential aged care services, both MPS and State Government Funded Residential Aged Care within MLHD. As the Residential Aged Care Compliance and Quality Manager you will be responsible for:
- Proven expertise in compliance frameworks, accreditation processes, and the application of Aged Care Quality Standards, NSQHS MPS Module, and relevant legislation, with the ability to interpret, implement, and monitor policy frameworks across residential aged care services.
- Highly developed data analysis, clinical governance, and risk management skills to identify trends, evaluate outcomes, and provide evidence-based recommendations that drive continuous improvement in care and service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-level leadership, advice, and operational support, including fostering a culture of collaboration, person-centred care, and high performance, while delivering strategic advice to executives, boards, and external stakeholders.
- Extensive experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating quality systems, internal audit programs, and corrective action plans, with a track record of supporting services during accreditation and driving organisation-wide improvement initiatives.
- Strong ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders at local, state, and federal levels, representing the organisation on committees and working groups, while effectively communicating outcomes, risks, and reforms to staff, executives, and external bodies.

In addition to registration with APHRA, our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven leadership in residential aged care who combines deep knowledge of compliance frameworks with strong clinical and analytical skills. They bring extensive experience in applying the Aged Care Quality Standards, NSQHS MPS Module, and relevant legislation to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality care.
- Strategic thinkers and problem solvers, with the ability to analyse complex data, identify emerging risks and trends, and make evidence-based decisions that drive continuous improvement. Their clinical background allows them to translate data into meaningful strategies that improve care outcomes and service delivery.
- A leader and mentor, they foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance, while promoting person-centred values at every level of care. They are skilled in building capacity within teams through coaching, education, and support, ensuring clinical staff are confident in meeting and exceeding compliance and quality expectations.
- Effective communicator and representative, comfortable providing strategic advice to executives and boards, as well as representing the organisation at local, state, and federal forums. They excel at engaging with stakeholders, preparing detailed reports, and contributing meaningfully to committees, ensuring the organisation’s voice is heard and respected.
- Agent of change, with demonstrated experience leading reform, project management, and implementing new standards. They thrive in dynamic environments, balancing operational demands with long-term strategic priorities, and are committed to innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in aged care services.
