About the Role

You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) with the interstitial lung disease (ILD) team. RPAH is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.
 
The Research Officer is an integral member of the ILD research team with responsibilities to assist with, planning, implementation, coordination, data management and reporting of research projects conducted in relation to the Australasian ILD Registry.

The Research Officer will have responsibilities across multiple, diverse projects at the same time. This may include assisting in the development and implementation of complicated ethics submissions and amendments, research protocols, project management, working with data collection, data analysis and report writing.

The Research Officer will utilise their knowledge of clinical and health services research in the establishment and maintenance of productive working relationships with complex internal and external collaborators, departments and staff.

Ideal Candidate

  • Health related degree and/or experience in research ethics.
  • Demonstrated experience in health or medical research.
  • Excellent skills in ethics and governance submissions.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and problem solving skills including demonstrated experience of working on concurrent research projects.
  • Excellent attention to details and ability to work within the constraints of a research protocol and ethics approvals.
  • Proficiency in a range of computer applications including Microsoft Office, medical electronic databases (e.g. Medline, PubMed, Embase), REDCap and research software (e.g. SAS, SPSS, EndNote, Nvivo).
