  1. Tertiary qualifications in a health, medical or business related field and/or substantial experience providing executive level support in a highly regulated environment.
  2. Sound understanding of the legislation, codes and guidelines relevant to clinical and research ethics, and, in particular, the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, relevant privacy acts and guidelines, the Human Tissue Act and the Therapeutic Goods Act as it relates to the use of medications in human research.
  3. Executive level communication and interpersonal skills, including exceptional negotiation and consultative skills, and the capacity to manage sensitive issues with a commitment to confidentiality.
  4. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including senior management, and to work autonomously and manage a team to achieve positive business outcome measures.
  5. Demonstrated understanding of a broad range of research methodologies, in particular, health research and clinical trials.
  6. Demonstrated capacity in using a wide variety of software applications and web based programs.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.​

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
