About the Role

Royal Prince Alfred is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and offers speciality services from its main campus as well as from Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Dame Edith Walker Hospitals. RPAH is one of Australia's leading hospitals, providing an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment services. Its specialities include cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, cancer, respiratory medicine, neurology, liver and kidney transplants.

  

The Research Officer is an integral member of the research team with responsibilities to assist with, planning, implementation, coordination, data management and reporting of research projects conducted within the unit.

  

The Research Officer will have responsibilities across multiple projects at any given time across diverse areas.This will include assisting in the development and implementation of research protocols, ethics submission, project management, patient recruitment, data collection, data analysis, and report writing.

 

The Research Officer will utilise their knowledge of clinical and health services research in the establishment and maintenance of productive working relationships with internal and external collaborators, departments and staff.

Ideal Candidate

  • Has health related degree and/or experience in research, clinical trials or relevant experience.

  • Excellent skills in quantitative or qualitative clinical/ public health/ health services research, including database management and basic statistical analysis skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting research in a health service environment.
