Achieve Something Great
Join a passionate and dedicated Youth Health team committed to improving the health and wellbeing of young people across South Western Sydney.

As a Temporary Part-Time Registered Nurse (0.63 FTE), you will play a vital role in delivering safe, accessible, and youth-friendly healthcare to young people aged 12–24 years. Working AT ONE OF OUR BUSIEST SITES, you will provide high-quality clinical nursing care that supports young people's physical, sexual, mental, and emotional health needs.

This is an opportunity to work in an innovative and supportive service where no two days are the same. If you are passionate about adolescent health, enjoy working autonomously while being part of a collaborative team, and want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people, we would love to hear from you.

Are You the Right Fit?
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with nurses, counsellors, social workers, health education officers, and Aboriginal Health staff to deliver holistic, trauma-informed care that empowers young people to achieve better health outcomes. Your work will contribute to early intervention, health promotion, care coordination, and improved access to services for some of the most vulnerable young people in our community.

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • A genuine passion and proven experience providing care to young people in community health settings
  • Strong clinical skills, including assessment, care planning, and follow-up
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage young people and their families
  • Flexibility and initiative to work across multiple sites and support outreach clinics
  • Commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practice
  • Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to continuous service improvement

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Describe your experience providing nursing care to young people (12 to 24 years of age) in community health settings. How have you ensured your care is youth-friendly, trauma informed and developmentally appropriate?
  • Provide an example of a clinical situation where you conducted assessments, care planning, and follow-up for a young person. How did you ensure safe and effective care?
  • This role requires supporting medical clinics across multiple sites. Can you describe a time when you successfully adapted to different clinical settings or worked across multiple locations?
  • Explain how you work within a multidisciplinary team and ensure your practice is inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. Include an example where your approach improved outcomes for young people.
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
