About The Role:

As a Registered Nurse at Vegetable Creek Multi-Purpose Service (MPS), you will play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care across our Emergency Department and residential care setting. You’ll support patients and families through vulnerable moments, advocate for informed decision-making, and contribute to a culture grounded in safety, respect and clinical excellence. This is a diverse and rewarding role where your skills, compassion and leadership directly impact the health and wellbeing of a close-knit rural community.

 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Delivering evidence-based, person-centred care to patients and residents

  • Responding effectively to emergency presentations and changing clinical situations

  • Supporting patients and families to understand treatment options and care plans

  • Coordinating safe discharge planning and appropriate referrals

  • Delegating care appropriately to ENs and AINs within scope of practice

  • Supervising and mentoring students and junior staff when required

  • Partnering respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and families to improve health outcomes

About You

  • Experience in emergency nursing, triage and/or working as Registered Nurse in Charge (highly regarded)

  • A positive, motivated and dedicated Registered Nurse ready to make a real impact

About The Team:

Vegetable Creek is a small, MPS in northern NSW, offering emergency care and 13 residential care beds. Our multidisciplinary team includes Registered Nurses, ENs, AINs, Community Health Nurses and visiting Allied Health professionals who work collaboratively to deliver integrated care. We foster a supportive and inclusive workplace culture where teamwork, learning and mutual respect are central to how we work.

Additional Information

Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions. If your contract ends before the agreed completion date, you may be required to repay a portion of the incentive. Please note: the increased RHWIS allowance is approved until 30th June 2026. Commencement after this date may be subject to change, including the allowance amount for which the candidate may be eligible.
