We are looking for Registered Nurses to join our surgical ward on a permanent full time or part time basis. A seven day rotating roster of 12 hour shifts supporting life/work balance on offer.

Where you'll be working

 
Northern Beaches Hospital provides world-class, Level 5 delineation services and features 486 beds, 50-bed Emergency Department, 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, a state-of-the-art theatre complex, world-class education centre, and excellent staff facilities including café and secure on site car parking. Northern Beaches Hospital has a wide range of services that can help you build a healthcare career in your chosen field. Ward 5A is a surgical ward with 32 beds catering to the local community and beyond. Specialties include urology, upper gastrointestinal, general surgery, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, breast and endocrine surgery. The ward supports continuing education for all staff through their education department and have a clinical nurse educator on the ward.

What you'll be doing
As a Registered Nurse on ward 5A, you'll be a vital member of the team and work closely with patients, their families, and a supportive multidisciplinary team to create and deliver care plans that promote positive health outcomes. You’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference by providing compassionate, person-centred care within your role. Your day to day will include assessing, planning, and evaluating care, while mentoring and supporting more junior team members. You will act as a role model in your day to day activities in a way that promotes a culture that reflects the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. You will support a culture of continuous learning, teamwork and innovation, and contribute to service excellence through participation in quality improvement initiatives, education, research and accreditation activities, while maintaining professional competency standards and compliance with NSW Health and NSLHD policies and procedures.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
  1. Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability.
