Scott Memorial Hospital is a small district hospital with a busy Emergency Department, medical ward and maternity unit. Our staff are a close-knit, integrated team who work collaboratively to achieve excellent patient outcomes and enjoy regular social club activities that strengthen team culture.
About the Role:
This is a diverse and rewarding role within the perioperative suite at Scone Hospital, reporting to the Perioperative Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and Health Service Manager (HSM).
The perioperative suite includes:
- 1 operating theatre
- 1-bed anaesthetic bay
- 2-bed recovery unit
- Day stay unit with 4 recliner chairs
You will work across clinical and non-clinical roles supporting:
- Endoscopy
- General surgery
- Minor orthopaedic surgery
- Gynaecology surgery
About You:
You will bring:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a united multidisciplinary perioperative team
- Clinical experience in instrument, circulating, anaesthetic and/or endoscopy reprocessing roles
- Confidence working within small teams, with the ability to liaise and communicate with nearby perioperative units when required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A willingness to work towards a Perioperative Postgraduate Certificate
You will be well supported by the Scone Perioperative NUM and perioperative team, Health Service Manager, Perioperative Clinical Nurse Consultant, and NUMs from nearby perioperative units, with supernumerary education supported at nearby tertiary facilities to promote ongoing professional growth and skill development.
