Northern Beaches Hospital Paediatric service is a dynamic Level 4 service caring for neonates, children and adolescents and their families. The paediatric ward is an 18-bed inpatient unit providing specialised medical & surgical care to infants, children & adolescents. The inpatient beds are complimented by a 6-bed short stay unit, total of 24 beds in this unit. NBH offers a variety of paediatric services including, but not limited to respiratory, surgical, orthopaedic, mental health, chronic and complex and day surgery. The ward consists of a mix of single & double rooms and has modern playrooms & courtyards built into the design. This creates a bright and pleasant environment for both our patients and staff. You will have experience incorporating very sound clinical skills in paediatric care and enjoy interacting positively with people and families. Key priorities of an experienced paediatric nurse at NBH include closely monitoring and responding to children’s clinical needs whilst coordinating care with the multidisciplinary team. The RN will prioritise supporting and supervising junior staff, ensuring care is developmentally appropriate, and communicating effectively with families. Maintaining accurate documentation, upholding infection control and safety standards, and contributing to efficient patient flow (admissions and discharges) are also essential responsibilities. The Registered Nurse acts as a role model by demonstrating behaviour and interacting with patients, their families and employees in a way that promotes a culture and standards that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
- Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Post Graduate qualification in Paediatrics, willingness to undertake or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- An understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
