About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Oncology Day Unit at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital on a part-time basis. In this role, you will provide safe, evidence-based, and person-centred care to patients with oncological and haematological conditions. You will work collaboratively with patients, families, carers, and a multidisciplinary team to support individuals throughout their cancer journey.
About the Unit
The Oncology Day Unit is a busy and well-supported service featuring:
- 8 treatment chairs and 1 inpatient bed
- Monday to Friday operation (excluding public holidays)
- A strong clinical support structure including a full-time Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC 1 & 2) and a McGrath Cancer Nurse (4 days/week)
- A dynamic, team-focused environment committed to excellence in patient care
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate, and patient-centred nursing care
- Administer oncology and haematology treatments in accordance with protocols
- Monitor patient progress and respond to clinical needs
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold professional standards
About You
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in oncology and/or haematology nursing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
