About the Role

Our Multi Purpose Unit (MPU) is a new service, operating for the past 18 months, providing high-quality care in a fast-paced clinical environment. The unit has 9 beds and is staffed by two nurses at all times to ensure continuous, responsive care.

We manage both medical and surgical patients admitted 24/7, primarily from the Emergency Department, leading to a high patient turnover. The role involves ongoing patient monitoring, assessment and responding quickly to changing patient needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy a busy, supportive environment and are committed to delivering person-centred care.

About You

  • You are a Registered Nurse with approximately 4–5 years of clinical experience, ideally within an acute hospital setting. A background in cardiac care will be highly regarded, as will your ability to confidently manage a varied patient load in a fast-paced environment.
  • You’re a flexible, proactive team player who communicates effectively and adapts well to change. You take pride in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for those in your care.

What We Can Offer You

  • Dedicated support from our Nurse Educator and after-hours Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), along with guidance from the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM).
  • Two supernumerary days to help you settle in comfortably.
  • Comprehensive orientation to telemetry through our tailored telemetry working package.
  • A positive and vibrant culture, thoughtfully built from the ground up.
  • A very social team environment with regular weekly breakfasts and casual dinners at the pub—great opportunities to connect and unwind with colleagues.

More Benefits

  • Monthly Allocated Days Off (for full-time employees)
  • 4 weeks annual leave (pro-rata for part time employees)
  • 6 weeks annual leave (for eligible full time nurses)

  • Salary packaging options - up to $11,600 plus novated leasing
