Join our dedicated team at the Mental Health and Substance Use Service (MHSUS), where we are committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to people living with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
Located in the McAuley Building at the Mater Mental Health Campus, our service operates Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. We work in genuine partnership with consumers, carers, and other health and social care providers to deliver compassionate, person-centred care.

About the Role
As a valued member of the MHSUS team, you will:
- Provide comprehensive assessments, care coordination, and facilitate centre-based group programs.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions informed by integrated treatment, stages of change, and motivational interviewing.
- Support community-based care through group facilitation, psychoeducation, relapse prevention, reviews, and liaising with support services.
- Undertake in-reach assessments within the Mater inpatient units, contribute to Antabuse treatment programs, and deliver the Get Well Stay Well program.
- Participate in consultation, education, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
This role offers the opportunity to develop specialist skills in mental health and substance use, with access to supervision, mentoring, and targeted professional development. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including Addiction Psychiatry, Senior Social Work, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, and dedicated administrative staff.
About You
We are seeking a Registered Nurse who is:

- Confident in time management and organisation, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Eager to learn and develop within a supportive, experienced team environment.
Essential requirements:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
- Eligibility to drive in NSW, with a willingness to travel as required.
- Experience in, or strong interest in, mental health nursing.
