Belmont Hospital is a valued part of the Hunter New England health network, providing high-quality surgical services to the local community. The Operating Suite consists of four theatres delivering care across a range of specialties.

You’ll join a dynamic, collaborative perioperative team committed to safe, efficient, and patient-centred surgical care. The team prides itself on professionalism, teamwork, and supporting one another in a fast-paced environment. Flexible working hours are available, with occasional overtime and on-call shifts across evenings and weekends.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse - Circulating & Instrument, you will play a vital role in delivering safe and effective perioperative care across a variety of surgical specialties.

Your responsibilities will include instrument and circulating duties, theatre list preparation, equipment setup, maintaining sterile fields, and supporting the surgical team to ensure procedures run smoothly and efficiently. You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and fellow perioperative nurses, contributing to a high-functioning and supportive theatre environment. This role reports to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM1).

You will be supported by experienced Nurse Unit Managers, Nurse Educators, and senior perioperative staff. A structured orientation program, including supernumerary shifts, will ensure you are confident and well-prepared in the Belmont theatre environment. Ongoing education and skill development opportunities are available to support your continued growth in perioperative nursing practice.

About You

You are a confident and adaptable perioperative nurse with recent experience in circulating and instrument roles.

You bring:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • At least 12 months recent experience as a Circulating and Instrument Nurse
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced theatre setting
  • A commitment to patient safety, teamwork, and high standards of clinical practice
