Join our Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services (DACS) team at Armidale Community Health and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people experiencing challenges related to alcohol and other drug use.


As a Registered Nurse within DACS, you will work collaboratively with patients, carers, multidisciplinary teams and the wider District Drug and Alcohol service to deliver safe, evidence-based and non-judgemental care. You will support patients to achieve their health goals through education, advocacy, clinical assessment and individualised care planning.

This is an opportunity to use your clinical expertise, communication skills and compassionate approach to contribute to improved health outcomes across the community, while being supported by an experienced multidisciplinary team.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide safe, person-centred and non-judgemental care.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, care planning and patient education.
  • Apply clinical judgement and evidence-based practice to changing patient needs.

  • Advocate for patients and provide individualised care.
  • Work collaboratively with medical, nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain professional, ethical and confidential practice.

About You

You are a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse committed to respectful, inclusive and person-centred care.

You will have:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Experience or willingness to learn about drug and alcohol treatment and harm minimisation.
  • Demonstrated evidence-based practice and critical thinking.
  • Ability to provide individualised care and advocate for patients.
  • Ability to work effectively with Aboriginal people and communities and a commitment to improving health outcomes.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • A flexible, professional and ethical approach to patient care.

  •  Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions.
