Located in the scenic New England region of NSW, Walcha Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) offers an exciting opportunity for experienced Registered Nurses to work across emergency, acute, and residential aged care in a welcoming and well-supported rural setting.
About the Service
Walcha MPS is a vital healthcare hub for the region, featuring:
- 2-bed Emergency Department (plus a consult room)
- 9 Acute beds (including 1 palliative care bed)
- 15 Residential Aged Care beds
- On-site GP/VMO support Wednesday to Saturday
- Telehealth emergency medical support 24/7
- Virtual admissions service and access to rapid retrieval teams
You’ll join a collaborative team of four nurses per shift (split across acute and aged care), with strong escalation pathways and the support of Clinical Nurse Educators, paramedics, and the SURS assist service.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Registered Nurse at Walcha MPS, your role will include:
- Delivering person-centred care across acute, ED, and aged care
- Responding to a broad range of presentations, from minor injuries to cardiac and trauma
- Taking clinical leadership as RN-in-Charge on shift
- Collaborating with telehealth and virtual care teams for safe emergency management
- Supporting residents and their families with compassionate care that respects their stories and experiences
