What you'll be doing
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality person-centred nursing care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Standards for Practice for Registered Nurses, and the Policies and Procedures of the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD)
About You
You present yourself as a Registered Nurse who meets professional, legislative and clinical standards with consistency and confidence. You hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and you practise in a way that reflects a clear understanding of your responsibilities, your scope and the expectations placed on Division 1 nurses. You demonstrate recent experience in high‑acuity environments, allowing you to respond to complex presentations, rapidly changing clinical situations and the demands of fast‑paced multidisciplinary care.
You communicate with clarity, purpose and professionalism, using information technology, written documentation and verbal interaction to convey key messages and ensure shared understanding. You recognise the importance of identifying issues, concerns and priorities when engaging with patients, families and colleagues, and you adapt your communication style to suit the needs of the situation. Your interpersonal approach supports rapport, trust and safe, collaborative care.
You apply problem‑solving skills with a structured, clinical mindset, drawing on evidence‑based practice, person‑centred principles and quality improvement frameworks to guide your decisions. You work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to planning, coordination and delivery of care that is both holistic and clinically sound. You understand how to balance autonomy with collaboration, ensuring that your practice aligns with legislation, policy and professional standards at all times.
You show reliability and flexibility in meeting the operational needs of a 24/7 service. You are available to work rotating rosters across all shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays, and you maintain the same level of professionalism and attentiveness regardless of the time or workload. Through your clinical capability, communication strengths and commitment to safe, person‑centred care, you demonstrate that you are a nurse who can be trusted to uphold high standards and deliver meaningful outcomes for patients and the broader health care team.
