Where you’ll be working
Cessnock Community Health, part of Hunter New England Local Health District, provides a range of community-based services to individuals and families across the Hunter Valley. Supporting a diverse rural and semi-rural population, our care is patient-centred and delivered close to home.
You’ll join a friendly, supportive team that values collaboration, open communication, and ongoing professional development, working closely with GPs, allied health and other providers to deliver coordinated care.
About the role
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will provide care in both clinic and home settings, supporting patients to remain safe, independent and well in the community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Nursing assessments
- Simple and complex wound care
- Catheter care and management
- Medication administration, including IV therapies
- PICC/Port-a-cath care and immunisation (where qualified)
- Patient and family education
You’ll work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality, coordinated care.
About you
You will have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Strong clinical skills, particularly in wound care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
- Sound clinical judgement and time management
- An unrestricted driver’s licence
Immunisation experience is desirable but not essential.
