About the Role
You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.
The Cardiac Catheter Lab and Day Stay Unit is a dynamic unit in which the successful applicant will encounter multiple cutting edge cardiovascular procedures and provides a 24 hr, 7 day-a-week emergency cover.
In this role, you will participate in pre and post procedural care of the patient in the Cardiac Day Stay Unit as well as rotate to the labs to scrub/scout for interventional cardiac, vascular, electrophysiology, implantable devices, and structural heart procedures.
The Cardiac Day Stay Unit operates between 0700 - 1930, Monday to Friday and the Cath Lab procedural rooms operate during business hours Monday to Friday with an on-call service covering out of hours emergency cases.

Ideal Candidate
- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Must be Australian resident or current visa holder.
- Current Cath Lab experience preferred and over 2 years clinical nursing experience in acute clinical settings i.e ICU/ED or CCU.
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to attend after hours call backs within 30 minutes.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a high functioning team.
- Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity.
