Where you’ll be working:
Welcome to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, the major referral hospital for the New England North West and a place where big hospital opportunities meet small city charm. With around 270 inpatient beds, multiple specialty units and a strong multidisciplinary focus, this is a hospital that keeps you learning and growing.

Tamworth itself is a great place to call home. Daily flights to Sydney and Brisbane, a direct train line, excellent public and private schools and a lifestyle that actually leaves room to breathe. Think good coffee, live music, sport, arts and easy weekend trips to nearby gems like Nundle, Barraba and Manilla. City convenience with country heart.

About the role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Nurse keen to grow their career in rehabilitation. You’ll work in a 22 bed standalone Rehabilitation Unit that supports patients from admission through to discharge, helping them rebuild skills, confidence and independence.

The caseload is varied and interesting, including stroke, acquired brain injury, neurological conditions, orthopaedics, spinal rehab, amputees, geriatric assessment and general debility. You’ll care for patients aged 16 and up, across a 24/7 service, alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team who genuinely value collaboration and learning.

No two days look the same. You’ll be coordinating care, supporting progress, communicating closely with patients and families and celebrating milestones that really matter.

About you:
You’re compassionate, organised and a great communicator. You can juggle competing priorities, manage your time well and work confidently within an interdisciplinary team. You care deeply about doing things properly, from accurate documentation to meaningful patient interactions.

You bring honesty, warmth, and professionalism to your practice, and you’re committed to ongoing learning. Rehab experience is great, but curiosity, empathy and a willingness to grow are just as important.

Requirements:

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA

What we can offer you:
You’ll be backed from day one by your NUM, clinical leaders and a supportive education team. A comprehensive orientation will help you settle into the unit, the hospital and the role with confidence. Ongoing education and skill development are encouraged and supported, so you can keep building your rehab expertise over time.

If you’re ready to be part of a team that helps people move forward after life changing events, this is a role where your work truly makes a difference.
