About Us
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. As a recognised leader in the healthcare industry, we deliver a comprehensive range of public health services across the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Regions.

Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.

Our Postnatal Ward is seeking compassionate, skilled, and family‑centred Registered Midwife to join our growing Maternity team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support women, babies, and families during one of the most significant transitions of their lives.
As a Postnatal Midwife, you will provide holistic, evidence‑based care to mothers and newborns, ensuring safe recovery, confident parenting, and a positive post‑birth experience. You’ll work collaboratively with Obstetric, Neonatal, and Allied Health teams to deliver high‑quality care in a supportive and nurturing environment.

This is a role where you will provide comprehensive postnatal care to mothers and newborns, including assessments, breastfeeding support, education, maternal and neonatal wellbeing, escalating concerns appropriately and supporting families in developing confidence with newborn care, feeding, and settling.

You will bring to the role confidence, the ability to communicate, empathy, patience and strong clinical judgement to every interaction, and you enjoy supporting parents as they navigate early parenthood.

Working in the Postnatal Ward means being part of a service that celebrates families, supports recovery, and empowers parents. Your care will help shape a positive start for every newborn and their family. Apply now!
