Hours Per Week: 38 (Job share may be considered for part time hours)

What you'll be doing 
As a Registered Midwife in the MAPS team, you will provide evidence-based, woman and family-centred care across the pregnancy, birth and postnatal journey. Working collaboratively with women, families and the multidisciplinary team, you'll deliver high-quality care that supports positive health outcomes while promoting continuity, education and clinical excellence.

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised midwifery care

  • Provide continuity of care across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal services

  • Collaborate with women, families and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Support students, Assistants in Midwifery and fellow midwives through education and mentoring

  • Promote evidence-based practice, quality improvement and culturally responsive care

Essential Criteria

  • Registration: Currently authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) 

 

Selection Criteria

  1. Identify your area of specialty or interest from the following selection - birthing, maternity, women's health clinics, midwifery at home, midwifery continuity of care models.

  2. Recent relevant experience in a clinical setting as deemed appropriate by WSLHD.

  3. Provide name and contact details (phone number and email) of two referees, one of which must be a current line manager.

  4. What does the NSW Health Code of Conduct and CORE values mean to you?

  5. What does woman centred care mean to you?

  6. Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients.

  7. Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail.

  8. Evidence of computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems.
