About the role

Two distinct Registered Midwife opportunities available:

3.2 FTE Registered Midwife positions - Provide comprehensive antenatal, labour/birth and postnatal care across maternity unit shifts, manage clinical presentations, support inpatient postpartum stays and outpatient appointments (like iron infusions), plus relieve continuity of care models during leave. Flexible coverage across the birthing suite with opportunities to work in other units during quiet periods.

0.8 FTE Registered Midwife - Maternity Antenatal & Postnatal Service (MAPS) - Deliver continuity of care for women not linked with AMIHS/Pius X, from IMAP booking through routine pregnancy visits to home-based postnatal care up to 10 days post-discharge (initially all-risk, progressing to high-risk model once MGP launches).

Both roles report to maternity leadership and contribute to evolving woman-centred maternity models in this growing rural service.

About you

You’re a woman-centred Registered Midwife who excels in both unit-based and community care, responds confidently to emergencies and collaborates effectively within a small rural team.

  • Current driver’s licence (essential for MAPS home visiting)
  • Commitment to woman-centred, culturally safe care

  • Professional team behaviours supporting cohesive maternity services

These skills will help you thrive across either pathway, with Clinical Midwifery Educator (CME) support during orientation, ongoing maternity education, regional Clinical Midwife Consultant (CMC) visits, temporary nurses’ quarters accommodation, fleet vehicle access and connection to Moree’s Welcome Experience.
