About the Opportunity

Are you a passionate midwife looking to provide true continuity of care in a supportive and collaborative team?

This is a unique opportunity to join our small, dedicated group of midwives working within a low-risk Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) model. With a caseload of 3–4 women per month, you’ll provide individualised care throughout the antenatal, birth, and postnatal journey.

Births take place in the Birth Centre at John Hunter Hospital (JHH), with flexible options for antenatal and postnatal appointments, which can be held in a community clinic or at home

We’re committed to physiological birth and empowering women to make informed choices, and we’re looking for a like-minded midwife to join us.

About Us

Our MGP has undergone recent changes and is now growing into a strong, collaborative, and motivated team. We value trust, teamwork, and professional growth, and are proud of the supportive environment we’ve built.

What We Can Offer You

  • Supportive Onboarding - A dedicated buddy/mentor for your first few months

  • Ongoing Team Support - Backing from experienced midwives in birth suite and strong medical collaboration

  • Skill Development - Opportunities to grow advanced midwifery skills (e.g. suturing) with hands-on support

  • Job Satisfaction & Retention - Meaningful work, flexible team culture, and a role that truly supports women and families

  • A Low-Risk, Woman-Centred Model - Caseload care that promotes normal birth while ensuring safe consultation and referral pathways

  • Recharge and Refresh - Enjoy 4 weeks of annual leave (pro-rata for part-timers), or 6 weeks for eligible full-time nurses - because work-life balance isn’t just a buzzword here.

  • Family Comes First - Take advantage of our paid parental leave and spend precious time where it matters most.

  • Make Your Pay Go Further - Access generous Salary packaging options, up to $11,600, plus novated leasing to help you get more from your income.
