About the Role
Canterbury Hospital is committed to delivering high-quality, patient- and family-centred healthcare to the local community. Since opening in 1929, the hospital has continued to evolve to meet the changing needs of the community through innovative models of care.
The Canterbury Antenatal Postnatal Service (CAPS) provides a Midwifery continuity of care model, offering women outpatient antenatal and postnatal care by a known (primary) Midwife up to 6 weeks postnatally. All inpatient care is provided by the hospital maternity team. This model is suitable for women with all levels of pregnancy risk, with Midwives collaborating across the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care. The CAPS Midwives work under a buddy system to support 7 day a week coverage across their caseloads.
- Current midwifery registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated understanding of evidence informed practice and critical thinking.
- Demonstrated commitment to person centred care and NSW Health Core Values.
- Ability to work on a 7 day rotating roster, including full weekends.
