Registered Midwife 5 - 20k Incentives Offered
Cowra Health Service

About the role
You will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary maternity team providing woman centred care that is focused on individual needs, expectations and aspirations to achieve optimal pregnancy outcomes for the woman and her family.

With a modern, state of the art Maternity Unit at the newly redeveloped Cowra Hospital, we  are seeking an experienced midwife to enhance their growing team. We are a Level 3 Maternity / Level 2 Neonatal Birthing Site in a rural community of Cowra with around 150 births per year.

You will be involved in all aspects of midwifery care from antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care supporting women and their pregnancies, where you can really make a difference to their lives. This can also include rotation through the Midwifery in the Home (MITH) service.

This is a permanent part time position within Cowra Maternity Unit. You will have the ability and willingness to work shifts, on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

This is a fantastic way to work within a small team midwifery environment with long standing relationships with core healthcare staff such as Child and Family Health, AMIHS midwife and dedicated GP/Obstetricians.

Our single aim is to provide a service to build healthier rural people and thriving communities, and our midwives play a crucial role in achieving this goal.  You’ll have the opportunity to work with a broad range of people across varied socio-economic backgrounds and diverse ethnicities and experience a range of models of care.

You will be developed professionally by our district’s Clinical Midwife Educator and Clinical Midwife Consultants, have access to online and face to face learning with the Australian College of Nursing and the opportunity to undertake our Clinical Leadership program.

While at times it will be hard, others challenging, we can promise your work will always be rewarding and you will be well supported by our Team in an inclusive, collaborative and supportive work environment.

This truly is a role where you will broaden your scope, develop new skills and supercharge your career.

Challenge yourself. Make an impact. Shape the future. Join us at Western NSW Local Health District.
