About the Role

The Pre-Assessment Clinic Nurse works within the Acute and Surgical Services team, reporting to the NUM and collaborating closely with the Waitlist team in a dynamic peri-operative environment.

This role is key to ensuring patients are thoroughly assessed and optimised prior to surgery.

You will:

  • Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments
  • Identify and manage high-risk patients
  • Coordinate pre- and post-operative care plans
  • Ensure patients are fully prepared prior to admission
  • Liaise across multidisciplinary teams to support seamless surgical pathways



About You

We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable AHPRA approved registered nurse with:

  • Experience in Operating Theatre, Anaesthetics, or Critical Care
  • Strong understanding of surgical procedures and anaesthetic risks
  • Experience in triaging patients and assessing readiness for admission (RFA) using systems such as IPM, CAP, medical records and GP health summaries
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
