REQ677323 - Recruitment Team Leader - Medical Workforce Unit

  • Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same?
  • Can you confidently juggle competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail?
  • Are you passionate about leading a small team that recruits the doctors who keep one of NSW’s busiest hospitals running?

Disclaimer: This is not a job for the faint of heart! It is hands-on, fast paced and highly rewarding! You will need to be organised, resilient, solutions focussed and know how to hustle!

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced medical workforce recruitment professional to join St George Hospital as the Medical Workforce Recruitment Team Leader.

About You

You are an experienced recruitment professional with demonstrated success leading end-to-end recruitment within a large, complex organisation, ideally within NSW Health or another healthcare environment. You thrive under pressure, enjoy solving complex workforce challenges and have a proven ability to manage multiple recruitment campaigns simultaneously without compromising quality or candidate experience.

You are highly organised, proactive and customer-focused, with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. You can confidently provide expert advice on recruitment processes, employment legislation, workforce policy and medical workforce matters to candidates, hiring managers and senior clinicians. You know how to build credibility, influence stakeholders and navigate competing priorities while maintaining compliance and delivering results.

Most importantly, you are a people leader who enjoys coaching and developing staff, fostering a positive team culture and driving continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Medical Workforce Manager, you will lead the Medical Workforce Recruitment team responsible for delivering end-to-end recruitment services for junior and senior medical staff across St George Hospital.

You will oversee large-scale annual medical recruitment campaigns, manage complex ad hoc recruitment, ensure compliance with NSW Health recruitment policies and employment legislation, and work closely with clinical departments to meet workforce demands. You will identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, use workforce data to inform decision-making and lead strategic initiatives that enhance the candidate and hiring manager experience.

Success in this role requires strong leadership, exceptional organisational skills and the ability to balance operational priorities with continuous improvement initiatives in a dynamic healthcare environment.

The Team

You will join a small, high-performing Medical Workforce Unit that prides itself on collaboration, professionalism and supporting one another. Working closely with the Junior Medical Officer Unit, Payroll team and key hospital stakeholders, you'll play a vital role in ensuring St George Hospital attracts and appoints high-quality medical staff who deliver exceptional care to our community.

If you're looking for a challenging leadership opportunity where your work has a direct impact on patient care, medical workforce capability and organisational success, we'd love to hear from you.
