About the opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the recruitment activity that will support the rollout of the new frontline leadership model for NSW Ambulance. As the Recruitment Team Leader, you will provide hands-on leadership to a small team, delivering promotion and appointment processes, primarily through assessment centres.

You will coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, including advertising, shortlisting, assessment centre delivery, candidate communication, pre-employment checks and contract administration. The role focuses on applying recruitment processes consistently, accurately and in line with policy and agreed timeframes.

You will allocate work, monitor progress and quality-check outputs, providing practical guidance to support your team during peak periods. You will resolve routine issues, escalate complex matters where required, and contribute to continuous improvement in recruitment delivery.

This is a hands-on team leadership role focused on reliable recruitment outcomes and supporting the appointment of capable operational leaders across NSW.

Please note that this role requires occasional travel throughout the state.

About you

  • You are an experienced recruitment professional with demonstrated experience delivering or being a part of high-volume, end-to-end recruitment in an in-house environment. You are organised, detail-focused and comfortable coordinating multiple recruitment activities in a fast-paced setting.
  • You can interpret and apply NSW public sector policies, procedures and industrial awards to ensure recruitment processes are compliant, consistent and fair. You communicate clearly and professionally with applicants and internal stakeholders, and remain composed when managing competing priorities.
  • You have hands-on experience supporting recruitment processes, with exposure to assessment centre delivery or coordination highly regarded. As a team leader, you provide practical guidance and support to a small team, monitor workloads and contribute to a positive, collaborative working environment.
  • You are committed to accurate recruitment delivery, a positive candidate experience and upholding NSW Ambulance values and standards.
