You’ll be part of a highly skilled and collaborative Medical Imaging team, including 7 dedicated ultrasound staff and a broader unit of 23 Radiographers and multidisciplinary professionals. The team is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred imaging services, with a strong focus on collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.

About the role

As a Radiographer Level 3 Grade 3 (Sonographer), you will provide advanced ultrasound and medical imaging services across a range of clinical settings. You’ll deliver high-quality ultrasound services across abdominal, pelvic, small parts, obstetric, vascular and paediatric imaging, while also providing clinical advice and imaging expertise to support patient care and clinical decision-making.

You will produce accurate and timely reports to assist Radiologists, work across multiple modalities within a 7-day rotating roster including on-call, and travel to satellite sites to support service delivery across the region as required. You’ll also supervise and support students, trainees and developing practitioners, and contribute to continuous improvement and service innovation initiatives.

About you

You are a motivated and experienced imaging professional who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

You bring:

  • Degree in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) or equivalent. Eligible for registration with Australian Health Professionals Registration Authority (AHPRA), hold/ current NSW EPA Radiation licence and ASAR accreditation and Post graduate qualification in Medical Sonography and registration with the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in ultrasound imaging.
  • Strong experience across a broad range of examinations, including paediatric imaging.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Sound clinical judgement, with the ability to analyse complex situations and problem-solve effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • A commitment to professional, ethical and culturally respectful practice.
  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required.

Additional Information:

  • * Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position or the agreed duration of your contract. All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions. If your contract ends before the agreed completion date, you may be required to repay a portion of the incentive. Please note: the increased RHWIS allowance is approved until 30th June 2026. Commencement after this date may be subject to change, including the allowance amount for which the candidate may be eligible.
