As the RIS/PACS Administrator, you will take on specialist responsibilities within the RIS/PACS unit, contributing to the efficient operation, development, and optimisation of digital imaging systems across the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. 

This position will see you will be a key point of reference for RIS/PACS matters, ensuring system integrity, timely rectification of issues, and maintaining high clinical and operational standards and work closely with Radiologists, Radiographers, Clinicians, and IT teams. You will also ensure seamless workflow, system reliability, and timely resolution of imaging-related issues.

What you will bring to the role:

  1. Degree in Medical Radiation Science, and a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a similar PACS related role.
  2. Demonstrated thorough understanding and knowledge of RIS & PACS and medical imaging workflow inclusive of modalities within a large hospital setting.
  3. Expectation to become the subject matter expert with the new RIS & PACS solution in alignment with the Imaging Departments work practices, configurations and troubleshooting of problems.
  4. Demonstrated ability to take ownership and deliver key project tasks assigned to the quality expectations of the Imaging Department including develop test scenarios, perform testing, document defects and communicate defect rectifications with the business and carry out training materials development.
  5. Demonstrated ability to maintain data integrity across enterprise IT solutions including but not limited to; PACS imaging data, RIS patient demographics / examination information, Enterprise Imaging Repository (EIR) data, critical results and interface engines.
  6. Participate in a RIS & PACS support model ensuring key deliverables such as SLA, business continuity, training and process development are met both in and out of business hours.
  7. Proven experience communicating effectively with key stakeholder groups from end users through to executives.
  8. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills including ability to work as part of a team and to be responsive to the changing needs of the organisation/end user.
