Join the Breast Imaging team at Westmead Hospital within the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute, a leading centre for diagnostic and screening breast services in Western Sydney. You will be part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving breast health outcomes through excellence in imaging, early detection and patient-centred care. This is a unique opportunity to work across a specialist service that values precision, quality and continuous improvement in breast imaging.

What you'll be doing 
As a Radiographer Level 2, you will deliver expert breast imaging services, ensuring high-quality diagnostic and screening mammography in line with national and organisational standards. You will play a key role in maintaining imaging excellence, supporting quality assurance processes and contributing to patient care and safety. Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Perform high-quality mammography and breast imaging procedures

  • Support quality assurance and maintain national accreditation standards

  • Ensure accurate patient data entry across RIS/PACS and BIS systems

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

  • Contribute to training, orientation and support of other staff when required

 

This temporary role is ideal for an experienced Radiographer or someone seeking to strengthen their expertise in breast imaging within a high-volume, specialist environment. You will gain exposure to complex cases, advanced QA processes and nationally recognised screening standards.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science – Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent

  • Registration: Registered with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA)

  • License: NSW EPA Radiation Licence IA14

 

Selection Criteria:

  1. High level customer service skills and Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients

  2. Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail and Ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative

  3. Highly developed communication with working in a multidisciplinary team and other health professionals

  4. Demonstrated skill in the analysis of complex issues and problem solving, Understanding of the management of patient complaints and patient privacy

  5. Experience in mammography with knowledge of quality assurance would be desirable. Maintaining high quality imaging, performing over 50% of Perfect and Good imaging, keep below the Repeat Rate (2%) and Technical Recall Rate of all imaging.

  6. Ability to assist in training others (give orientation and be able to supervise when required)

  7. Working towards completing Certificate of Clinical Proficiency in Mammography certificate or willing to obtain within 12 months of starting
