Where you'll be working 
At the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute, breast imaging plays a critical role in the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer, supporting women accessing screening and diagnostic breast imaging services.

Located at Westmead Hospital, you’ll join a dedicated, multidisciplinary Breast Imaging team delivering both screening and diagnostic services. The culture is professional, supportive and deeply patient focused — where quality, compassion and teamwork are valued every day.

What you'll be doing 
This is a hands-on clinical role for a Radiographer who thrives in high-volume environments while never losing sight of the person behind the image. 
You will:

  • Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography

  • Deliver imaging that meets BreastScreen accreditation standards

  • Balance efficiency with care, dignity and patient reassurance

  • Maintain image quality, accuracy and data integrity across systems

  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses and health professionals

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science – Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent

  • Registration: Registered with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA)

  • License: NSW EPA Radiation Licence IA14

 

Selection Criteria:

  1. High level customer service skills and Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients

  2. Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail and Ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative

  3. Highly developed communication with working in a multidisciplinary team and other health professionals

  4. Demonstrated skill in the analysis of complex issues and problem solving, Understanding of the management of patient complaints and patient privacy

  5. Experience in mammography with knowledge of quality assurance would be desirable. Maintaining high quality imaging, performing over 50% of Perfect and Good imaging, keep below the Repeat Rate (2%) and Technical Recall Rate of all imaging.

  6. Ability to assist in training others (give orientation and be able to supervise when required)

  7. Working towards completing Certificate of Clinical Proficiency in Mammography certificate or willing to obtain within 12 months of starting
